Write the demo as an action

Start with a sentence that a camera can verify: move a notebook page, fold a stand, adjust a strap, or refill a container. A list of adjectives gives the editor less to work with than one observable action. If the benefit depends on a measurement, plan the measurement and explain its conditions.

Separate the action from the outcome you hope it suggests. Showing a page move demonstrates rearrangement; it does not establish that the notebook will save time, money, or waste for every customer. Keep the spoken copy as narrow as the demonstration.

Keep the product state consistent

Record the product name, variant, and accessories at the top of your shoot sheet. Check those details again when selecting takes. A feature visible on one variant should not be edited into footage promoting a different one.

Show enough of the mechanism for a new viewer to understand the action. A rapid montage of close-ups can look polished while concealing the very detail the demo is meant to explain. Favor one readable sequence over several ambiguous cuts.

Make room for the explanation

This worked example uses 30 seconds because the mechanism needs a complete sequence. Read the copy aloud while performing the action before recording. Shorten the copy if you have to rush, or remove a secondary feature instead of increasing playback speed until the demonstration is unclear.

Place essential labels away from the frame edges. Preview the exported vertical video on the actual app before posting; interface controls and captions can overlap the subject.

Connect the video to the matching page

The destination should show the same product, variant, and offer as the video. If it is sold out or unavailable in the viewer’s region, update the campaign or destination before buying traffic. A mismatch wastes the interest created by the demonstration.

Measure product-page visits and the next meaningful action separately from video views. Our free planner’s website-preview handoff is an option for businesses still building their destination; it does not automatically create a working product checkout.

Prepare a reusable editor handoff

Download the production brief after editing the visual directions and copy. Use the CSV worksheet to mark the approved take for each shot and explain any product-state changes. Save clean product stills alongside the footage so the editor can make a consistent cover image.

For your next experiment, keep the demonstration intact and change only the opening action or opening line. Do not call a variant a winner before it has enough relevant observations to justify another test.

Make the next video yours.

Replace the example with one real offer and a detail you can show. The builder keeps the plan editable.
